The production of high-quality corrugated board in an efficient and stable manner is an ongoing key topic for corrugated factories.
Numerous factors influence our production, such as paper, glue, pressure, machinery, operations, and temperature. In the past, only a few types of paper were used, which allowed for continuous production without the need for frequent paper changes. However, today, we may need to change between 15 and 20 different types of paper to meet customer demands. Typically, we would use a minimum of around 100 gsm of fluting or medium paper, but today, we are even required to use fluting as low as 80 gsm or medium paper as low as 50 gsm. Traditional machines, like the fixed or mold-type single facer, are not suitable for handling such low gsm or poor-quality paper, even at lower speeds. So, what is the solution? The answer lies in the Negative Cassette Type Single Facer with Soft Touch Technology, Line Pressure Control (LPC), and Synchronized Gluing. Only with this type of high-performance machine can we handle such demanding orders.
This single facer employs a large-to-small roll ratio to reduce resonance and enhance machine stability during production.
What is Soft Touch Technology?
Traditionally, when changing the corrugated rolls, it was necessary to manually adjust the glue gap due to the different dimensions of the E/B/C/A flute rolls. With this new technology, the glue gap adjusts automatically. The glue roll is controlled by a special structure with a hydraulic system that maintains consistent pressure, even when the glue is at low pressure.
What is Line Pressure Control (LPC) Technology?
When switching between different gsm papers, it is typically necessary to adjust the pressure on the pressure roll. If the operator forgets to adjust it, heavy glue marks may appear on the board, reducing the Burst Strength (BST) and overall performance. With this new technology, the pressure is automatically adjusted when the paper thickness changes, ensuring that no glue marks appear on the board and improving the overall quality.
Final Pasting on the Double Facer:
After producing 2-ply, 4-ply, or 6-ply board, we perform the final pasting on the double facer, where new technologies have been developed to enhance heating efficiency on the hot plates and press shoes (suspended type), ensuring a smooth touch with the board for optimal forming. The vacuum suction belt system in the cooling section ensures rapid cooling and flatness, preventing any marks.
Additional Advanced Technologies:
Further advanced technologies are incorporated to simplify the production of high-quality corrugated boards. IPC control, Industry 4.0 design, EtherCAT communication, and fully servo-driven systems ensure smarter, more stable production. The AI system learns from order data and automatically improves production efficiency. Unlike traditional methods that require skilled operators to maintain high-quality performance, these technologies provide greater stability and enhanced efficiency in production.
Through these innovative technological solutions, it has become easier to produce high-quality corrugated board with improved stability and performance.
